Guarded Path

It was a great stroke of luck for us.
We were running away from that angry horde along the road, when we reached a point where the road rose up a rocky ridge and some old fortifications allowed us to organize a defense.
The enemy was vastly outnumbered by us, but a good defensive organization often makes up for the difference in numbers.
And so it was.
We repelled many attacks from the creatures, throwing arrows, spells and anything else we could.
It was hard, but in the end they gave up, leaving many corpses on the battlefield
